WHAT IS A ROOT CANAL?

A root canal, otherwise known as endodontic treatment, is the name of the process of removing injured or diseased nerve from the tooth. The pulp is carefully removed from inside the tooth, cleaned and disinfected. Then the root canals are shaped and a filling material is placed to seal the canals. This procedure is commonly referred to a specialist. Once the root canal is completed a filling or crown will be recommended for tooth protection.
